1. June–1. September
The camping site in Vogar is under development, located by Hafnargata 23 next to the Sports Centre. The Sports Centre has a gym, a swimming pool, hot tubs and a sauna. In the area between the camping site and the Sports Centre there is a playground for kids. There is also a 40 m2 Service Facility where campers can cook and enjoy their meals, and a barbecue area with benches. There are three small cottages in the area with beds for 12-16 people. The toilets have been renovated and include two showers.
The site is well located with useful services within walking distances, such as the restaurant Gamla Pósthúsið, the Verslunin Vogum general store, a bar and a gas station. Vogasjóferðir offer scenic boat tours. There are many beautiful hikes in and around Vogar, for example Stapinn, Keilir mountain, and Vatnsleysuströndin beach. By the beach you will also find an 18 hole golfcourse and one of Iceland‘s oldest churches, Kalfatjarnarkirkja. There is a nice bike route across Stapinn and into Vogar.
The camping card is not valid during the Family Days festival from August 18th – 21st. (Is Fjölskyldudagar).
