Grindavik is one of countries most popular tourist destination as the Blue Lagoon is located by the entrance of the town. The Grindavik camping site opened in 2009 and is one of Iceland‘s most luxurious camping area. The nature around Grindavik consists of lava and breathtaking nature. There is exceptional number of birds in the cliffs by Reykjanes peninsula. The Hópneshringur driving route is ideal for travelers where stranded shipwrecks can be seen on the beach with detailed signs along the way. Fisheries, is the livelihood of the Grindavík residents.
