1. June–1. September
The camping site in Vogar is still under development, located in Hafnargata next to the Sports Hall. The Sports Hall’s facilities include a gym, a swimming pool, hot tubs and a sauna. Between the camping site and the Sports Hall is a playground for kids.
Vogar is just a 15 minute drive from the Keflavik International Airport, and 30 minutes from downtown Reykjavík. All services are within walking distance: Jón Sterki restaurant is next to the camping site, and nearby you have the Gamla Pósthúsið restaurant, the Verslunin Vogum general store, bar and gas station. Vogasjóferðir offer scenic tours by boat.
There are many beautiful hiking trails by and around Vogar, such as Stapinn, Keilir Mountain and Vatnsleysuströnd where you also have an 18-hole golf course and one of the oldest churches in Iceland, Kálfatjarnarkirkja. There is a nice bike trail from Stapinn to Vogar.
The Campingcard is not valid during the Fjölskyludagar, summer festival from August 17th – 19th.
