1. June–1. September
The campsite in Vogar is at Hafnargata 23, next to the sports center, is under development. The sports center has a gym, a swimming pool, hot tubs and a sauna. In the area between the campsite and the sports center there is a playground for kids. There is also a 40 m2 service facility where campers can cook and enjoy their meals, and a barbecue area with benches. There are three small
cottages in the area with beds for 12–16 people. The toilets have been renovated and include two showers. The site is well located with useful services within walking distances, such as the restaurant Gamla Pósthúsið, Verslunin Vogum general store, a bar and a gas station. Vogasjóferðir offer scenic boat tours. There are many beautiful hikes in and around Vogar, taking in sites such
as for example Stapinn, Keilir mountain, and Vatnsleysuströndin beach. By the beach you will also find an 18-hole golf course and one of Iceland‘s oldest churches, Kalfatjarnarkirkja. There is a nice bike route across Stapinn and into Vogar.
The Camping Card is not valid during the Family Days festival, August 18–21 (in Icelandic Fjölskyldudagar).
