The Sauðárkrókur camping site is located in the area by the local swimming pool. Skagafjörður valley offers many great locations and tourist attractions such as museums, historic sights, golf courses, horse riding or horse shows, sport fishing in various lakes or rivers or hiking in the beautiful nature. Close by there is river rafting as well as an opportunity to sail to the historic site Drangey Island, which is highly recommended.  There is great bird life in Skagafjörður and furthermore, this is the area which prides itself of having one of the greatest numbers of Icelandic horses.
The camping site has a newly built service house that is facilitated with hot and cold showers, toilets, and a washing machine.  Electricity can be purchased at the site and toilets can be emptied on site. The town of Sauðárkrókur offers all the necessary services, swimming pool, shops, restaurants, bars and a golf course.
