Logding tax (100 ISK pr night) is not included in the Campingcard.

We are currently finalising the list of the participating camp sites for the Camping card 2013.
There are minor changes to be expected.

Sherrie McCarthy is a keen traveler and writer. She purchased the Campingcard in the summer of 2010 on the ferry on her way to Iceland. She describes her experience with the Campingcard  
"And financial wise we made a smart decision on the ferry.  We bought the 2010 camping card that lets us stay at selected sites for free.  We worked it out, and after 5 stays on a site it had paid for itslef.  We plan on staying in a tent as much as possible, so even with wild camping and the use of the hot springs, we figured we would still require 5 showers.  And then we discovered how much internet costs (try 2 Euros per half hour).  And then our campsite has free internet.  And just from being able to access the internet the card has paid for itself.  If you are coming to Iceland to camp buy one of these!!!!"

The summer 2012 we will give out discount cards with the Campingcard for petrol and disel that counts for 6 Iskr pr litre at all Shell stations and 4 Iskr at litre at Orkan tank stations.   The locations of these tank stations can be found in our brochure that are included with the Campingcard. 

In the year 2012 the Icelandic government intruduced a special tax on lodging wich includes camp sites. Unfortunately the Campingcard can not collect this tax and include it int the price of the card. Card holders are threrefore obligated  to pay 100 ISK pr night to the Icelandic state at the camp sites they choose to stay on. Notice that the tax is pr card not individual. So a family of four only pays 100 ISK for the night.  

The Campingcard 2012 is finally ready. This year we will have 44 camp sites around Iceland on offer for only 99 euro. During the next days we will be adding all the info on our new camp sites.  The Campingcard can be bought here on this webpage and then sent to your address or those who travel with the ferry Smyril Line can purchase the card on board upon arrivel in Iceland. The card can also be bought at Shell service stations around Iceland, in most of our camp sites or at all the main postal offices.

We are currently working on the Campingcard for the summer of 2012. Some changes will occur and the price will be lowered to 99 Euro, due to the strengthening of the Icelandic krona. The card is walid for two adults and up to four children.
